City of Edmonton Development Permit is required whenever there is a new purposed development in Edmonton. The permit is required as each new proposed development must meet the City of Edmonton Zoning Bylaw. All new developments must meet the requirements of the City of Edmonton Zoning Bylaw. Once the Development Permit is approved, a final Building Permit submission will be required for the proposed development.
Depending on the type of development, the City of Edmonton Development Permit submission materials may will require some of or all of the following materials/documents:
- site plan or plot plan
- RPR
- survey plan
- land titles
- environmental site assessment
- parking analysis report
- floor plans and proposed design drawings
- landscape plans
- City EDC consultation
The entire City review and approval process for the City of Edmonton Development Permit can take anywhere from 6 – 8 weeks depending on the types and complexity of the development and the status of the City departments.
